UBER SAID 10,000 of its Massachusetts customers signed a petition to Massport over the last 24 hours complaining about a proposal to hike fees on ride-hailing apps at Logan International Airport.

Uber also said it was launching a radio ad Tuesday to put more pressure on Massport in advance of a planned vote on an anti-congestion plan on Thursday.

The plan calls for increasing ride hailing fees to $5 for both pickups and drop-offs; the current fee is $3.50 for pickups only. The plan also requires all ride-hailing drop-offs and pickups to take place in the central parking garage, about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the terminals. The goal is to reduce congestion in the terminal area and facilitate efforts to have vehicles drop off and pick up passengers at the same time.

Taxis are not affected by the anti-congestion plan and can still pickup and drop-off customers at the terminals.

Uber’s campaign against the Massport anti-congestion plan launched on Monday, while Lyft kicked off a similar effort on Friday, mobilizing its customers to craft emails to Massport and Gov. Charlie Baker.

A Massport spokeswoman said the authority continues to have productive conversations with the ride-hailing companies, including one that occurred on Tuesday. “Massport is prepared and willing to continue the conversations to find a solution,” the spokeswoman said.
