Gallup’s newest polls have self-identified Democrats outnumbering self-identified Republicans here by 34 points, the largest gap in the US. The percentage of respondents calling themselves “liberal” (29 percent) is also the highest in the country (outside of the District of Columbia).
But all is not lost for those wanting to unseat Gov. Patrick next year: Even in Massachusetts, slightly more people (30 percent) identify themselves as “conservative.”
