On Tuesday night at 10, Fox 25 Undercover ran Part 1 of their two-part series on the Boston Redevelopment Authority, which was prepared in collaboration with CommonWealth magazine. The segment focused on city workers buying affordable housing units and turned up some interesting information not contained in the magazine piece. For example, BRA director John Palmieri intimated in a Fox interview that he would release documents detailing how many city employees actually bought affordable units, information the agency previously said it would not provide. His legal office later told Fox it would cost a whopping $47,000 to find and compile the data and redact personal information.

On Wednesday night at 10 p.m., Fox 25 Undercover reports on an unusual fee arrangement the BRA has at close to 25 properties across the city. Whenever a condo or home at one of these properties is sold, the BRA is paid a percentage of the sale price. What strikes many as odd is that the payments will go on in perpetuity, turning the buildings into never-ending money machines for the BRA. To find the report online after it airs, go to Fox Undercover.
