The Brockton Enterprise has the South Shore angle on the rising cost of road salt. One town has apparently seen the wisdom of buying in bulk:
Hingham public works officials are eager to start using a larger shed this winter… The new shed can hold 3,000 tons of salt – much more than the current shed’s 280 tons.
